What Is Sober Living?
Sober living is structured, drug-free housing for individuals in early recovery from addiction. Unlike treatment facilities where residents receive intensive therapy throughout the day, sober living homes provide a supportive environment where residents practice independent living while maintaining sobriety.
Residents work full-time jobs, attend recovery meetings, follow house rules, and submit to random drug testing. This creates a critical bridge between the controlled environment of treatment and the independence of living alone.
Sober living teaches residents to manage real-world responsibilities-employment, finances, household duties, relationships while maintaining their recovery program. The accountability structure and peer support help prevent relapse during this vulnerable transition period.

Why Sober Living Works
The transition from treatment to independent living is when most relapses occur. Sober living provides critical support during this high-risk period.
Accountability Prevents Relapse
Random drug testing, curfews, and peer accountability catch warning signs before relapse occurs.
Peer Support
Living with others in recovery provides daily encouragement and reduces isolation.
Real-World Practice
Residents work jobs, manage money, and handle responsibilities while still having support.
Structure and Routine
Daily expectations and schedules help establish healthy patterns essential for recovery.
Safe Environment
Drug-free housing away from triggers, dealers, and people who enable substance use.
Time to Heal
Recovery takes time. Sober living provides stability during the critical first months and years.
Our Approach to Recovery Housing
What makes Knoxville Sober Living different from other recovery housing options

Men-Only Environment
We operate a men-only sober living home. Gender-specific recovery environments eliminate romantic distractions and allow residents to focus entirely on sobriety, employment, and personal growth.
Men support other men through shared experiences, honest accountability, and genuine brotherhood. This creates a unique environment where residents can be vulnerable about their struggles without the complications that arise in co-ed settings.
Accountability
We enforce accountability measures because they work. Random drug testing twice weekly, mandatory curfews, required meeting attendance, and immediate consequences for violations.
This is not punishment, it’s protection. Structure and accountability in early recovery save lives.
Employment Focus
All residents must work or actively job search. Financial stability and work routine are essential to successful recovery. We provide job placement assistance, resume help, and employer referrals.
Most residents find employment within their first two weeks. Knoxville’s job market supports recovery.
Safe, Stable Housing
Our house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, away from bars, known drug activity, and triggers. The environment was specifically selected to support recovery.
Fully furnished, all utilities included, bedding provided. Residents focus on recovery, not logistics.
Peer Support Community
Residents form genuine friendships with others who understand recovery. Weekly house meetings, shared meals, and daily interactions create accountability and support.
You’re not doing this alone. Other men in the house want you to succeed.
